Gratitude knows no bounds, this is not a lie

I sat one morning with a friend close by. We were having the first meal of the day, with no worry or cry. Discussion amongst friends is pointless, yet good, as it was that day too. As we continued our conversation my friend pointed to someone behind me. It was a woman who stood there staring into nothingness. My friend asked her if we could be any of any help. All she needed was directions to a nearby store. I gave her some directions verbal and nothing more. She started off on her tread but in the wrong direction instead, I again directed to her in another way in what I knew would be right. She started off in her tread again, with gratitude nonetheless. As I turned around after a few moments I realized she was making her way, and stumbled as to my dismay. My brain gave a jump start to my body, and my heart pointed out my stupidity, as I got up in a flash and proceeded to help her along her way. I offered to help and I asked her what else I could do. She had more of her gratitude to offer, priceless than anything I knew. I lead her to the store and asked her about her purpose. She needed some protection for her feet, which I could see were tired. She held on to my arm in a way that depicted trust, in the small journey I took with her, with few words to last. A feeling I could cherish for a deed I considered a must. We reached her destination the store was very big though. I wanted to make sure she was served, and made sure she was attended to. I even made sure another person was there before my departure too. Her gratitude took form again as I offered her a seat, it multiplied as I departed making sure she got her protection for her feet. She was a person who had the power to dream during the day, as normal people need to wait to rest and dream, until the night turns into day. Though I had a few morsels before I got up to help her, my heart’s content prevented me from finishing my meal any further. The creator has given most of us so much, lest we forget we need to share it with some others who may need it, and not make a fuss . I offer my gratitude to the wonderful lady I met, for teaching me a lesson with no expectation instead. I realized a fact that I will consider always true. She was not the one who needed directions or assistance, but me and so many others too.
